What is a guru bead?
At the end of the 108 beads in a mala lies a large bead, called the Guru bead. This "Guru" bead can also be referred to as the "meru" or "mountain" bead. This central bead is to be your teacher in following your deepest truths. It's purpose in the mala is to hold your intentions/goals and help you re-focus on these intentions as you wear or use your mala.
